Fresh Tahong at Talaba sa Sineguelasan

Last night hubby and I were watching 100% Pinoy. They featured seafoods from around the Philippines. It was from the show where I noticed that Capiz is known as the Seafood capital of the Philippines. As the episode goes on, it was said that tasty mussels can be found in Baranggay Sineguelasan, Bacoor Cavite. *wink! Did you read my mind? You got it right!

Early morning today we followed the google map on how to get there via Molino Road, Buhay na Tubig, Aguinaldo H-way, Tirona then straight to Sineguelasan Seafood Tetminal. It's just right near the Baranggay Hall. I once thought of a big port and more stalls selling mussels and oyster but they were only two stores there selling fresh tahong and talaba.

Tahong per salop is ranging from P45 to P60 and P300 per pale. Sorry, I forgot to ask the price of talaba.

A pale of mussels --P300
I will share with you on my next blog of the different menus using mussels aside from stew or sinabawang tahong (Tinola alike) 😊

Yum! Yum! Yum's Bulalo

Two weeks ago, we had our dinner in Bulalo Point Tagaytay. Very perfect hot soup for a cold weather there, right?! Imagine we need to travel for more than hours including traffic to get there and
just to eat Bulalo?! But now, I have a good news to Southern because I have found a new Bulalo house here in Cavite to dine for affordable and yummy Bulalo.
Yum's Bulalo P350/order.
Yum's Bulalo is located along Daang Hari Road Pasong Buaya 2, Imus Cavite. If you cross the intersection of Daang Hari (Molino 4) going to Imus, it is 5 km drive from the stop light and is located at the left side. And if you're coming from Aguinaldo H-way, it can be seen on the right side. They were in their third year of serving hot Bulalo but I just noticed it only yesterday morning! Huh!
Drive slowly because they are using dim ball lights and it is not easy to see the tarpauline signage at night. They also have small parking space for costumers.

I thought that it was more likely a carinderia but we were surprised that they have nipa huts to accommodate the costumers who will dine-in. Choose nipa hut that would fit your group. They will get your orders right there. Each nipa hut have installed buzzer. Just push it if you want to call for food server for your extra orders or for other concerns.

Tips:
Make sure to apply mosquito repellant lotion when you plan to dine in at night or ask the food server to put mosquito coil to shoo away the mosquitos.

Aside from their house specialty Bulalo, we also tried other menus:

Buttered Shrimp P170/order

Calamares P170/order
Ready to fill our tummy! Rice is P15/order
I asked each one if how they find the food. Everybody says "masarap!" And we are all sated enough without going so far and not hurting our pocket too!

So it's time for you to see 😊

I want to suggest to the owner to put their signage in a pole and higher so costumers can easily see it even by far.

Katungkulan Beach (Marine Base)

Katungkulan beach overlooking Corrigidor Island
My original plan on our road trip after passing through Kaybiang Tunnel is to have our final stop to Patungan Cove for the family outing. But due to privatization of the road going there, we won't able to swim there. We decided to go to Katungkulan Beach which is popularly known as Boracay de Cavite because of its powdery fine whitish sand (not as white compared to Boracay sands that even if it is wet, it remains white). This one turned grayish when wet. It is located in Marine Base Ternate,Cavite.

We spent the whole day of family summer outing here. With entrance fee of P100/person, you can enjoy the beach and nature.

They have cottages available for only P500. We rent a room with electricfan for P1k for the whole day to secure our belongings. If you want to stay overnight, they charged for different rate which is P1500/room. But honestly, we were not satisfied staying in their filthy room with small bathroom and two double bed. They also allow the beach goers to bring their food without corkage fee. If you happened to not bring any food, don't worry because there are stores around that serves food.

rooms and cottages
The beach is quite small but i enjoyed and love to walk by the shore with my hubby rather than take swimming because of itchy water due to many jellyfish living there. People would catch them and threw it away on shore so they will enjoy and be safe while on water..

I got pity on the jellyfish and realized that we live in a balanced world. People should understand and not be selfish when on the beach because the sea belongs to sea creatures like this jellyfish. Though they are plenty and not good for swiiming, it's not a perfect reason to say that Katungkulan Beach is not a beautiful one.

Just like us, we chose to look on the beautiful side of the beach by taking pictures to the natural beauty of the place than swimming. Others play Volleyball. I hope that visitors who come and soldiers living there should always learn to protect the environment by keeping the surroundings clean.

Sight-Seeing Patungan Cove

After the long drive to Kaybiang Tunnel and passed through it, we were amazed by what ocean scenic that awaits us.
Getting closer to our destination!!! (Ternate-Nasugbo Road)

My original plan is to have a family outing in Patungan Cove but due to privatization of the road, we won't able to get there. Atleast we have seen the beauty of Patungan Cove and again amazed by God's wonderful creation.

Kaybiang Tunnel

I keep on searching on what gem could  be found here in Cavite. So I asked my friend who live here for years if she could recommend a place to go to. And she mentioned Kaybiang Tunnel. I asked her if what could be found there? What are the things we could do there? Then she said just for sight seeing. Sounds uninteresting at first with a bit of excitement of what to see there when she said "sight-seeing".

So I searched on it, read reviews and find it in google map if how far it is from our place. 1 hour and 21 minute travel time as per google map from Molino to Kaybiang Tunnel. So i doubled the given google map time since i don't have any idea  how really far it was and what's waiting on us along the road.

The journey began. I drove all the way from Molino via Daang hari road, Imus via Open Canal, General Trias, Tanza, Naic, Maragondon and Ternate. It took me 2 hours drive to reach our destination.

I was excited when we arrived there, surpassed driving on steep, more curves and long roads. We took pictures as proof that we were able to get there but a bit disappointed when hubby asked me on what to do there that I almost get uninerested to pass through the tunnel realizing of what my friend saying "sight-seeing" and asked myself,  "eto na ba yun?"

Kaybiang tunnel is a 300 meters tunnel that was built in Maragondon Cavite and the longest road tunnel in the Philippines that passes Ternate-Nasugbo Hway. It was opened in 2013 from time it was digged in 2009. It's an alternate route going to Batangas without the hassle of passing to a getting heavy traffic Tagaytay.

I passed through the Kaybiang tunnel and was amazed by what we saw on the other end of the tunnel.  I was never get wrong to pursue though got disappoint earlier.

This is what the "sight-seeing" that my friend is referring to. It was amazing scenery of Patungan Cove.
I would not be able to see this if I did not make to pass through Kaybiang Tunnel.
